Chad has been drawing since he could hold a crayon without eating it. Based in Arizona, he eventually graduated from crayons and earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Visual Communications from Northern Arizona University.
His digital line drawings combine expressive strokes and bold colors with the occasional “how did that quick sketch actually turn into my face?” moment. He employs one-liner compositions that balance simplicity with structure—often looking planned, but only after a few fortunate accidents.
His painterly work takes a different approach—more brush, less undo button. The goal is to make it look easy, which usually involves a long stretch of extreme difficulty. He chases ideas with a brush like a cat stalking a laser pointer: focused, unpredictable, and occasionally surprised by the result.
Chad works fast in both mediums, creating portraits and visual concepts that aim to be clever and colorful. He’s open to collaborating with editorial, publishing, and advertising clients—or anyone else willing to let pictures do some of the talking.
When he’s not rendering an image, he's flipping through odd books, strolling through REI for yet another headlamp, or heading out on a solo camping trip.
